Assassin's Apprentice: 5/5
No assassinating. Great book though.

Royal Assassin: 5/5
The ending was wild. Couldn't understand quite what I was reading. Didn't honestly think Hobb would go that far. Having read more of her work that is clearly a foolish thing to ever think.

Assassin's Quest: 5/5
Fitz gets to actually be himself. I understand those who think it was meandering, but I loved seeing Fitz finally cut loose of everyone with a claim on him. Tragic, but I was a big fan.

Hobb knows how to immerse in a fantasy world. The characters feel fleshed out and human and all too fallible.

I love the way Robin Hobb writes. I like that it's slow and filled with every small detail to paint the picture, so much so that I found myself not even realizing when something dramatic was happening until it had happened half the time. It was such a weird, surreal reading experience. It was so slow and monotonous, yet so many crazy things happened! I hope we get to hear more of Burrich and his past with the Wit in the next one, and I also want more Kettriken.

I did suspect Rosemary from the moment Fitz knew to be looking for a spy. My only real complaint about the writing was that Rosemary was the only minor character whose whereabouts and behaviors were described in vivid detail every time, and she was always around. To me it was incredibly obvious that she was probably suspicious, but it makes sense that Fitz wouldn't have known
