Welcome to Seraphine’s. What is your desire? Just reading those two lines, you know you are in for a dark read.
Seraphine’s is a motel, owned by Seraphine, and with the help from her 2 employers Jasper and Ivy, they cater to their resident’s darkest needs. As you read this book you learn about what brought the three main characters to the hotel. Seraphine inherited the motel after the previous owner took her in as a young girl. Jasper ended up there after being betrayed and Ivy to forget. Each of their story explains why they do what they do.
Seraphine is a controlling character, when she wants something she goes out of way to get it, either by violence or manipulation. Jasper has a temper but when it comes to Seraphine he shows his gentle side. Ivy was a dark character, she hid her secret well, although she was one of Seraphine’s pawns. Added to this, a mystery man called Justin makes contact with Ivy but why has he got an avid interest in the motel.
Each scene, in each room was dark and graphic. So, if you have triggers don’t read it. I found these scenes adding intrigue to the story. I was always trying to guess what fetish the new guest had and although I have read quite a few books in this genre, I was still surprised. I have read other books by Virginia Johnson so I knew what to expect. Working with Julia has added yet another good book to her collection. I could not tell which author wrote which scene as the story flowed smoothly.
This is a stand-alone book and the ending was perfect. I would love to know what happened next and I hope I can revisit Seraphine’s.
