I picked up this book on sale at Target because I had been seeing it everywhere and, well...it was on sale. So, why not?
I really enjoyed the concept of this story and found myself relating to Nora a lot. I loved that she got to experience what life would have been like had she taken several of the potential paths she had considered earlier in life.
One thing that kind of bugged me (and this could truly just be my terrible ADHD memory), but I feel like we didn't get enough of a description of Nora in our initial storybuilding. I had such a hard time picturing her in my head, which made it really difficult for me to concentrate on imagining the things I was reading. I'm one of those people that plays the story in their head in vivid detail while reading and I had such a hard time with this one. This is one reason that I took a star off. And again, that could just be my pea-sized memory and attention span. But I don't typically have trouble with this in any other book.
The other reason I took a star off was because even though this was a good story, it was not a great story. I didn't find myself craving just one more chapter. I could pick it up and put it down and it made no difference to me. It was a bit slow for me, I guess?
I would still recommend it to someone if they asked me about it because it is a good story. However, it's not a book I'm going to be raving about and telling every who asks for book suggestions that they have to read it.

I was hoping this one had more depth to it. Characters were shallow and I predicted the ending as soon as I learnt what the ‘Midnight Library’ was (which was sadly not very far into this book). Exposition was overwhelming. A couple friends recommended this to me and… needless to say I will not be trusting them with book recommendations again lol.
