Meh. I enjoy King's writing. Always have, always will. It's just a fun ride. I should start tagging every book of his that uses "tough titty said the kitty." This one is another one that just kinda runs out of steam at the end. Not horrible but not the best either.

"Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.”

Still haven't gotten to the books by Stephen King that i heard to be too scary, but this was just the right amount of paranormal for me right now. "The Outsider" didn't have any elements that kept me up all night but it did have a good story. Unfortunately, since i am reading his books out of order, i knew the plot twist that came with this book beforehand. Even so, it was still interesting to read about how the characters get to that conclusion and how they deal with it. Found myself skipping very few paragraphs near the end compared to other books. King truly knows how to write a good story. 3.5/5 stars (maybe 4, but its a 3.5 for now)

This is a typical Stephen King novel with the supernatural embedded in the daily life of a normal town. When an atrocious crime is committed and all signs point to the school's baseball coach the whole town is shocked. The evidence seems to be tight but then there is further evidence that seems to show that the coach was somewhere else when the crime was committed. With two sets of hard evidence, the only logical explanation is that he has to be in two places at the same time.

King starts the novel with a horrendous crime and smoothly transitions into the supernatural, then ties it to the Bill Hodges Trilogy, so if you enjoyed that series, you would enjoy this as well. I would like to see a very scary horror movie made out of this novel, it might be difficult to watch...

This is definitely the best Stephen King book i've read in a long long time. The ending is a bit of a damp squid which is why its not a 5
