I understand now why people didn't like this one, but it was my first Mariana Zapata book and I liked her writing style. Can't wait to read more from her.

Couldn't connect with either FMC nor the MMC. She was childish and I just felt nothing for him. It was way too long with too much inner dialog and focus on the tattoo shop. Once some plot started 3/4 way thru the book, it quickly rushed to the end. Not for me.

unpopular opinion but i really enjoyed it, i really missed MZ’s writing because i love the way she makes characters and their inner dialogue.
i really liked the tattoo shop element although the whole widowmakers plot wasn’t my cup of tea. not because it was badly executed (i actually liked how it ended) just because i’m not really into motorcycle clubs.

really liked iris and her dynamic with blake and slim as well as the slow burn with dex. i have to say it was one of MZ’s quickest slow burns so i wasn’t expecting that. nonetheless, as always she nailed the enemies to lovers.
i loved their banter so much, especially the nicknames. however, the whole honey, babe, baby from the start kind of ruined the slow burn a little bit.

I love the characters but didn't enjoy the plot as much as her other books.

Tropes/Highlights:
   -enemies to friends to lovers
   -brother’s friend
   -age gap
   -boss / employee
   -opposites attract
   -bad boy / good girl
   -close proximity
   -tattoo shop workplace
   -motorcycle club
   -grumpy / sunshine
   -tattoo artist, ex-con MMC
   -virgin FMC
   -one bed
   -slow burn

On the one hand, I kind of wanted to smack the FMC for making such dumb decisions half the time and her inner monologues were kind of repetitive and too long at times. And yet…. AND YET, this was like crack and I ate it up. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 This was my first Mariana Zapata book and I’ll definitely be reading more.

Honestly just did not like the mmc and found it very hard to picture him as a man in his 30s when he still throws temper tantrums. Also, his explanation for calling the fmc a bitch…. Idk he got better throughout but I found him very unlikeable the first half of the book.

Another one of her books where I wasn’t even planning on reading it because the description was so bad. Like it didn’t make enough sense and didn’t give the idea it should’ve been giving. But I loved
