This one was so much more confusing than Alice in Wonderland, but nevertheless, I enjoyed it a lot. Like a lot of people, I only found out there were two separate Alice stories through the recent movies, but I've always loved the original movie (that, apparently, was a mash-up of these two stories) and I had wanted to read the classic for ages now. So glad I finally did! Oh, and the illustrations were, once again, beautiful and fit so well with the story, it made me enjoy the books even more.

So I can say I read this book now that I've finished writing a stage verison of Through the Looking Glass, even though I kinda read the book backwards (the White Queen would be very pleased indeed). Liked it okay.

I liked it, but I felt it wasn't as good as Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. There was too much random poetry and song recited by the characters, and the concept of the chess squares was quite confusing. Also, the banter between the Red and White Queens became really obnoxious. Although I will admit that I liked Tweedledum and Tweedledee, Humpty Dumpty and the flowers.
