I absolutely loved this book and everything about it! I had to read it for a college class and it easily became an instant favorite in that class. The book makes you think and it does it in a thrilling way which I absolutely love.
The story centers around Torey and after receiving a letter his fascination with Christopher Creed, a fellow student who has disappeared. All of the students have no idea if he simply ran away or committed suicide. This book does a fantastic job of looking a human nature and how we as people treat other people. How you should never be mean to someone because you honestly never know what they're through.
Overall this book was amazing. It makes your heart hurt to see how mean children can actually be. How horrible it is that we don't care until something terrible happens. I loved this book because it's thrilling and deals with a very real topic. It even has a little hint of supernatural in it. Overall fantastic book!

It was fascinating to join Torey as he goes along in the story andhas all of these revelations about the people around him. All of the characters in the book are recognizable in most peoples' lives and seeing behind why these characters are the way they are, how easily they are to miss judge and the discovery of many of the flaws of human nature. The change that happens to Torey is great to see.

Christopher Creed is missing and no one knows if he committed suicide, was kidnapped, or ran away. The town is in an uproar to find Creed. Soon accusations fly, but no body ever appears. Torey is obsessed with figuring out what happened and clearing his friends' names.
I really couldn't get into this novel. Many of the pop culture and technological references were dated and less likely to appeal to a contemporary teen. This book wasn't for me.

This book has a great amount of mysteries. It leaves you with a lot to contemplate (which might be cleared up in the sequel?). Definitely for the older set.

Quite a story! I think kids could really get into the complexities of the characters, especially Torey and the mystery he discusses. As a teacher, the one downfall I see is the language and the discussion of sex. I believe it to be realistic for the tale, but some parents might object. I find it hard to believe it's a 6th grade level book.

Interesting point of view on how high school mentality is like, as well as how some people may view reality. I quite like how Plum-Ucci portrayed social dynamics through the main character, Torey.^^^^While it's not a thriller or particularly suspenseful book, it really does keep you guessing and wondering what the conclusion is... if any.
