“In the end, the courage of women can’t be stamped out. And stories—The big ones, the true ones—can be caught but never killed”. —Ronan Farrow

POWERFUL!

Harrowing real life page-turner that makes you concerned about the grips abusers have over levers of power in almost every industry in this country.

A compelling and inherently fascinating truth-is-stranger-than-fiction story. It is well conceived, written, and researched in a way few things are today.

But its the approach that particularly sticks out. By unveiling the step-by-step escalation of badgering and pressure from Weinstein, the clarity of his accusers, the changing attitudes of his team at NBC, his personal experience as a man being surveilled as his career is threatened, Farrow makes the culture of Hollywood, news, politics, and the MeToo movement empathically understandable. It does more than any article ever could because it places the grotesque and seemingly mundane in unsettling context that doesn't have the space to explain itself in brief tweets and news beats.

an addictive read but horrifying to remember that it’s REAL. really liked how it’s also about the reporting of the story because that was silenced too.

You think you know, but you don’t know. This book details the extent to which powerful people go about covering their bad behavior, and the people that help them do it.

Such important, brave work from Farrow. I never knew the scale and spread of this controversy, unbelievable how much time and effort it took to break everything open. One of top books of my year!
