An amusing account of Bruce Cambell's life from his childhood up to 2001 - covering the majority of his career. I like the Evil Dead series as much as the next guy, but I wouldn't characterise myself as a super fan by any means. I was pleasantly surprised that it really was a peek behind the curtain spotlighting the unsung heroes of show business. The stories of some of the people that he has worked with over the years are just as interesting as his account of making Evil Dead in that godforsaken cabin. Listening to the audiobook has added flavour of the accents that Bruce gives to the characters in tales - I think this might get lost somewhat in print.

(The misogny warning is for a brief but unrepentant anecdote about voyeurism from when he was a kid.)

Bruce Campbell is one of my favorite actors by default since I’m from Michigan. This book is his first of two biographies, spanning from making movies with his friends in the backyard to just after Brisco County Jr. I think. I’m writing this review 3 weeks later. Just a really good peek behind the blinds of mid-to-low tier actors who are dudes just getting by. If you pick this up for love of the charming handsome Bruce, please keep in mind that it was published in 2001, so is not 100% PC by modern standards.
