Volume 2 of the Serenity graphic novel series was a little more confusing to follow than the first. The story bounced around between present and past, memory, fantasy, etc., and when I finished reading the story, I had to go back and reread most of it just to figure out what had happened. This was partly because the artwork didn't always resemble the cast members closely enough (esp. Simon), but also because the story jumped so much that I'd forgotten about a particular subplot that turned out to be key.
Bottom line? It would have made a wonderful episode of the Firefly tv show, and fans will probably still enjoy reading this graphic novel episode because Joss Whedon wrote it, so it has his snappy dialogue. There are some very funny scenes, particularly those when Jayne speaks.
For readers' advisors: setting and story doorways

I liked this a lot more than [b:Those Left Behind|228258|Tribulation Force (Left Behind, Book 2)|Tim LaHaye|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51kENpW0blL._SL75_.jpg|709793], although the art is still randomly screwy (dude. Jayne is not a blond. Jayne should NEVER be a blond) and I did not get the ending—both in terms of what the hell actually happened in the climactic battle (bad art! Bad!) and in terms of the believability of Mal’s big decision. But everyone’s “I’m rich!” fantasies were fun, and, well. I miss my show. I’ll keep taking what I can get.

A heist for once goes right and everyone is basking in their newfound fortune. Thing is, trouble always finds them threatening their lucrative take!
Another enjoyable look at the misadventures of the Serenity crew!

For any fan of Firefly, this is a great read. Fills in more of the story and ends with a tribute to everyone's favorite character.

I love Firefly and Serenity. I love that the stories continue on in some form. There really is nothing more to say.

The story line is abrupt with no background, it could be flushed out a lot better. I still loved it because it's firefly, but if it wasn't I probably wouldn't have given this 2 stars let alone 3.
