The Metamorphasis was a nice quick read, especially for a classic. If you are a fan of Flannery O'Connor,  you would like it. There are a lot of unlikable characters who don't have a sense of self awareness, and we get to watch then react to strange circumstances.

I feel like this should speak to me a bit more plotwise- but, I mean, in terms of characters, that's me!! He's literally me in so many ways!

Is it stating the obvious to say this is a weird little book?

I picked this up out of curiosity after reading Mohsin Hamid's The Last White Man, and I found that I largely appreciated this story about a man whose radical transformation allows his family of societal rejects to come into their own.

I don't understand its place in the literary firmament, but I appreciate having read it.
