I fell in love with Percy Jackson and wanted to try other Rick Riordan's books :)
I really enjoyed this one but I don't know why it too me ages to read it. I read like 50 pages there, 30 here... and it frustrated me because I ENJOYED the story, the plot line, the characters and the action.
I know less about Egyptian mythology than Greek one but as always it's well explained. I think I miss the mythology aspect explained in a now-day experience type of thing, I feel that It was more a thing in the Percy Jackson series (like demigod can't use cellphone because it attracts bad guy and stuff).
Let's see what happens next shall we :)

Initially, I was going to give this book 3 stars, but the last 50 pages elevated it to 3.75. This trilogy is my least favorite in all of Rick Riordan's mythology based works. For me personally, I think the introduction of the baboon character is where it always falls apart for me (this was a re-read). It's just not on par with the Percy Jackson series. I will say, however; that I did enjoy it more on this re-read than I did the first time I read it all those years ago. I originally planned to just unhaul this trilogy once I finished reading this volume, but I'll hold on to it and read the other 2 again before making any decisions.

After re-reading, I can calmly say that this book stands the test of time.
Both Sadie and Carter read their age and each had a distinct personality that made their way of telling the story fun. I like mythology and the Ancient Egypt is something I rarely read about. The stakes were high for a middle-grade but it still felt approachable for its intended audience.
