This book was FILTHY and I loved every second of it! This is the first book / novella I’ve read from Kennedy Ryan and let me tell you, I’m HOOKED! Even though the novella was only 150 pages, I felt super connected to the characters and I felt they were fleshed out enough to satisfy the story. I definitely would love more with Takira and Naz,

I so want to be in this friend group. I love getting dropped into their lives. I absolutely loved Naz & Kira. I loved that he still thought of her. I loved how she loved herself enough to go for what she wanted. His character was upstanding, but he wanted her enough to not let the past affect their future, I loved these two characters.

Thank you to Kennedy Ryan and the team at Social Butterfly PR for the advance reader copy of The Close-Up, a novella in the Hollywood Renaissance world.

I really enjoyed Reel, the first book in the Hollywood Renaissance series. I am very excited about this steamy novella. It features Takira from Reel with Naz a teammate of the men from the Hoops series. Talk about a dream Kennedy Ryan crossover!

Spicy! Steamy! Hot! On a scale of simmer to inferno, this novella was a full blown wildfire! The heat between Naz and Tanika was blazing from their first encounter! This second chance romance between a baller and his teammate's little sister was so emotional and grueling but sweet and inspirational all at the same time! The chemistry between the two main characters was on such a deep level, far beyond their physical attraction and admiration for one another. They were fated lovers for sure! Kennedy Ryan did an incredible job of writing such a detailed and in depth story in a short amount of pages!

”In a world that feels gray, she’s a burst of color, and she shines.”

Whew. Kennedy really packed a punch even in a quick novella. All the crossover characters and life updates had my heart bursting. I absolutely love everything I have read by Kennedy Ryan and would literally read her grocery lists.

Takira and Naz meet in high school, while Naz plays basketball with her brother. The first night they meet they share an intense connection and are excited to see where it goes, but something unexpected gets in the way. Twelve years later, they are unexpectedly reunited and their attraction is still strong as ever.

”The most beautiful boy I’d ever seen has grown into a man I can’t take my eyes off.”

While Takira is cautious about giving into Naz due to their past event, Naz is determined to win her over. He even devises a plan to get her on the same vacation cruise is going on with a group of friends. Said friends include crossover characters from Kennedy’s other books, which made me so happy. During this cruise, they finally can give into their connection and are both stunned to find out how strong it is.

Few authors write both emotional and physical connections as strong as Kennedy. This novella is short, but still has plenty of romance, spice, and plot. Seeing Naz and Takira spark up their connection again, despite their reservations, was perfect. They cannot stay away from each other and their feelings develop so quickly over a short period of time. I loved how everything played out and seeing them get the end they deserved.

”No one will take this—her—away from me again.”
