Original review at Gabic Reads

The general idea: Maggie and Caleb have run off to California to escape their enemies. Also, Bish is a jerk.

Thoughts upon seeing the cover art: I love the swirling around the edges.

It made me feel: Like I want to be an Ace.

Romance: Finding your soulmate

Highlight: Maggie development from an insecure little girl to the Visionary.

Read it if you like: Superpowers, beaches, bands

A GREAT follow up to the first book, Significance. I couldn't put this down. The love the characters have for each other, the energy....it's all good.

I want a Caleb of my own. ;)

This book is a lot shorter than the first one, it's definitely a transition book.

We reunite with pleasure with this adorable couple: Maggie and Caleb where we left them in the first installment. Caleb and Maggie are hiding in California waiting for the situation in Tennessee to be back to normal. They enjoy their "vacation" with uninvited guests: Kyle and Bish as chaperons.

There is a lot less action than the first one and a bit less tender moments between the couple (well that's not the truth there is a fair amount but I wanted more Caleb!). We learn more about the history of the Aces and a new threat appears. Some big moments of the book were predictable but the story was still enjoyable. I felt so sorry for Bish and Jen but sometimes I did not understand Bish violent reactions towards Caleb (don't bully my boy Bish!)
Maggie was really annoying, I get that she was freaked out about this new world but girl, stop crying every two seconds okay? You have this amazing boyfriend who would do absolutely everything for you so get a grip on yourself!

It was an enjoyable read but I wanted to see more Caleb (yeah I know but I'm completely crazy about this boy) and find out more about this prophecy. Sometimes it felt as if Maggie doesn't really care about all these things and doesn't take her task seriously. I wanted more action from her part and wanted her to take her responsibility. Hopefully I'm going to get what I want in the third book. I am dying to read this one!

After reading Significance, I had to start Accordance as soon as possible. I love the world Shelly Crane created and I am eagerly awaiting the minute Defiance is available for purchase.

Accordance begins right where Significance left off at the beach house in California. Maggie and Caleb weren't expecting Bish and Kyle to show up and spoil all the fun. They were expecting anyone but them. Bish is suspicious and Kyle is acting all cranky because he loves Maggie but can't have her. This was supposed to be a stress-free zone, but how can Maggie not stress when she is trying to hide who she really is from Bish?

I really liked this book for a number of reasons. First and foremost, Maggie and Caleb. I love these two characters. If I could trade places with her for a day, I would...in a heart beat. Granted she is super stressed out and not handling things well, I would still do it. Second, we finally get to spend time with the ever-protective older brother. Bish may be rude, cranky, and suspicious of the events that are unfolding in front of his eyes, but he is a big part of Maggie's life and she doesn't want to lose him. Third, we find out how special Maggie really is, and not just to Caleb and the Jacobson's, but all Aces. Finally, no matter how much Maggie protests, Caleb will spoil her whether she likes it or not. I love that she is grateful for what she has and that she is also accepting of it as well.

There is only one thing I really didn't care for about this installment to the Significance Series, Maggie starts to get just a little whiny. Not to the point of annoyance, but just enough to where I noticed it.

Overall, this is a wonderful addition not only to the series, but also to my library of books. I look forward to reading and reviewing Defiance when it comes out on March 13, 2012.
