The writing style and all the different point of views was just my style I really loved it, the ending felt a bit rushed to me but still worked really well with the story and set up well for more books written in this world!

This book had a promising beginning. I was thoroughly intrigued by Mia and her struggle with herself as well as the overall killings and their mysterious nature. However, by the end, I think it fell flat. It wasn't bad. It could have just been better. The book could have been cut in half or at least by a third if the cult plot line hadn't been involved. It was pretty much a pointless part of the intrigue.

Also, all the experiences I have had with Nordic Noir has left me spoiled by how dark and well planned the plot is. This one let me down.

The story is very far-fetched and the characters quite unbelievable but gripping nonetheless.

Geweldig boek!

Two damaged detectives are trying to solve a horrific case.  It turns out to be very personal.  I enjoyed getting to know the characters and was invested in them.  The case was interesting and how they determined who was guilty was unique.  I really enjoyed this book and will definitely read the next in the series.  I would highly recommend this book but would suggest potential readers check content warnings.
