This was occasionally a bit too cheesy or unrealistic, but I loved getting to know Jack and Hannah together at the ranch. Some funny, memorable scenes (the cow!!) along with emotional depth in their backstories. Made me eager to read more Katherine Center, as it was more romcom than some of her other books I'd read.

Such a great read. My daughter saw the title and was unimpressed, saying it was such an overused trope. Then she read the description, and said, “Oh, it’s also the fake relationship trope? And role switching? This is actually original.” And read it immediately after I finished. Overall plot-wise, there was really only one surprise, but it was so much fun getting to the ending we knew was coming. The characters were fresh and lovable. Enough was said about the villains to know that they are actually round characters, but we didn’t spend too much time with it on the page. And it was so funny. Closed door, which I prefer and don’t mind handing to my daughter.

Cute and fun story line, although the text itself didn’t feel developed (he said _____ she said _____) . Also didn’t like how Hannah couldn’t explain her emotions at the beginning but there was growth in that regard, it just didn’t feel like she matured throughout the story until the end.
I did love how Hannah and Jack connected and how he helped her get a grip on her emotions and see that they were good together.

3.5 stars if i forget the last 20% ever happened

The murderous stalker getting a better redemption arc than her best friend (who slept with her ex and then regretted it and profusely apologized for it) reeks of internalized misogyny…

This is my first book by this author. I know Center's books get a ton of hype so I had real high hopes for this book. I was really disappointed by this one. I found the characters so childish. Is Robby a 30 year old man with the mentality of a 15 year old? He was annoying, pathetic, and a real scum bag. Glen was equally as bad. I enjoyed Hannah as a character but felt like her & Jack could have built a stronger relationship throughout the story. I found the storyline kind of funny at first but overall, I just didn't enjoy this book that much. I listened to the audio & really enjoyed the narrator. I also felt like the grief was portrayed was really well, but everything else felt very lacking & childish.

This book was so fun! It had me literally laughing out loud, gasping at outrageous parts, and swooning. Very cute!

I docked it half of a star, because I did find the writing a bit juvenile at times. It reads a bit young even though the characters are all adults. Also, some of the conflict points were just a bit underwhelming. However, the sheer charm of the book made up for it in my opinion!

this is an aggressively average read. There were some moments where i was genuinely impressed by Close’s use of imagery, but the story is bare bones tropes and one dimensional side characters.

The most egregious example is the Hollywood girlfriend.

There’s also a “and then everyone clapped” moment that made me dock a full star
