4.25/5 stars ⭐ Ugh. Kingston is so. Damn. Perfect. Also, communication in this book? 10/10. I probably liked the plot line of the second book more, but Kingston is my favorite lead of the series so far.

*Potential generic spoilers below*
POV: Dual POV, first person, present tense
Romance Type: Insta lust turned friends turned dating
Series info: All in series. Can be read as standalone but will spoil details from first two books
Trope(s): Good boy/bad girl (*swoon*. Can we just throw bad boy/good girl in the trash? This is far superior), Coach's daughter
Ending: HEA
Triggers: Self deprecation, mommy issues
OW/OM:  No cheating. Both leads' exes show up and stir drama, but it's resolved with communication

Drama: 3/5

Thoughts: ahhh meddling families, you got to love them. Enjoyed reading and getting to know this couple. Enjoyed that growth that Queenie went through, the much-needed love she had been missing from her maternal side was given to her at a time where it was really needed. Happy that karma bit back at those terrible characters, happy that we got a HEA for good ol dad, but very much want to know his story!

It was fine! Quite dramatic and there's a LOT happening here - both H/h are the products of unplanned teen pregnancies, MMC is a professional hockey player with a wild family story, the FMC has dropped out of like 30 colleges (not literally, but it's mentioned a lot that she didn't finish for Reasons) and is now working as her dad's assistant, there's golddigger drama, tabloid drama, All My Exes Live In Texas drama. It's not a very relaxing book. Very high anxiety even though the MMC projects like a beacon of calm. But he's also very like, I gotta protect my woman and keep an eye on her, which I never love. I was also irritated by the names - Kingston and Queenie, which is punned on a lot - and some of King's teammates were called Bishop and Rook and har har har yeah we get it.

So I enjoyed it while I was reading, and probably it will fall out of my head momentarily.

If you've ever wondered what Kenneth from 30 Rock would be like as a romantic lead, this may be the book for you!

Unfortunately, it was not the book for me.

I quite enjoyed Kingston's appearances in [b:A Favor for a Favor|50155745|A Favor for a Favor (All In, #2)|Helena Hunting|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1569243622l/50155745._SX50_SY75_.jpg|72610656], and I was looking forward to his story. But his straight-laced persona was just too over-the-top in this one, to the point that he felt more like a cartoon character than a human male. The milk, the polos, the constant comments about his super safe driving. It was just too much.

And then the Queen to our King, Queenie, made absolutely no sense at all. Throughout the book, she keeps saying how crazy and chaotic she is - so many references to how she's a hurricane and King is calm seas - but, besides her big secret at the end (which really wasn't that bad) the most chaotic thing she does in this book is make a mess while she's cooking pancakes and then load the dishwasher haphazardly.

This series has really been a roller-coaster for me:

I feel like this series is really inconsistent compared to Hunting's other works. It's a bit disappointing.

Queenie and Kingston are EVERYTHING. I was taken from page one until the end. I LOVED this story. My favorite of the series which is saying something because I LOVED this series. I devoured it. But Ryan Kingston was my favorite and Queenie fit him PERFECTLY. Couldn't ask for better. xo

I have enjoyed every single book in the All In series more than the one before it. It seems to be my way with Helena Hunting's books.

This one is the story of Ryan Kingston Or King and Queenie (yes, that's really her name, no I'm not joking) who meet after they both individually have pretty rough nights. Fun times ensue and then they come to find out that Queenie is actually the daughter of the GM of the hockey team that King plays for!

Ryann Kingston is the epitome of a cinnamon roll character. He's a bit buttoned up and plays by the rules. Queenie is chaos on two legs.

Their friendship is adorable. The relationship Queenie has with her dad is so special.

This is the sweetest friends to lovers story. I don't want this series to be over, but I feel like it might be and now I have a sad.

Another fantastic book in the world of hockey. I loved Queenie and Kings story. It was perfect. King’s family was a hot mess express. It was quite comical. I loved his relationship with Hannah. I loved how King was always there for Queenie.
