A nice continuation to the series, and nice to meet new characters, particularly Aileen. I'm not sure if she is mentioned in the original novels, and this might provoke criticisms from some die-hard fans of the novel.
Time will tell how this new character stands up compared to the true Dark Tower characters.

I could not put this one down. Roland is still under the effects of Maerlyn's Grapefruit and Aileen wants to be a gunslinger (even though she's a girl). Plus, treachery involving Roland's mother and Marten.

Very compelling story--made me go check out the first Dark Tower novel. And illustrations are wonderful.

Like the second collection, [b:Dark Tower The Long Road Home|2834890|Dark Tower The Long Road Home|Peter David|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1224793721s/2834890.jpg|2860996], this was new, original material and it was AWESOME. I can never get enough of Roland and Mid-World and, despite not much face time for Roland himself, this did not disappoint. Recommended for Dark Tower fans.
