When reviewing a book, I am not critical, and I usually favour the books rather than their adaptations. Because most of the time, books dominate screen adaptations, but Forrest Gump was so uncanny that it made me want to go and watch the movie again. I have nothing against Winston Groom, but this is not a great book. However, I finished reading it in under 7 hours.

This book is the sweetest book ever written. Forrest has your heart the whole way through and all of the characters begin to feel like friends. You go through a rollercoaster of emotions with Forrest and his story, and it is a beautiful piece of literature

1,5⭐ - not good

Ugh, what a struggle!!!
The writing was kinda nice, but the story... Just so dry! I liked the movie, even though it's not too great either(to my taste), but that I at least cared about. This oftenly made me frow, for something it said, that bothered me.
I also got very annoyed the repeatedly said synonyms for "idiot".

Không biết với người khác thì như nào nhưng đối với mình-người xem phim trước khi đọc sách thì cuốn sách khá nhạt nhòa. Mình công nhận là truyện có một số điểm đặc sắc nhưng nó được chuyển lên phim xừ nó rồi nên những điểm mới trong truyện khi đọc chỉ còn lại toàn là mấy thứ chán ngán.
