I've been meaning to read this for more than 10 years. Now that I am well beyond this book's target demographic I thought now's the time (lol). I can see why this series is so beloved. I wish I had read this in middle school but I was still able to enjoy it as an adult.

Eindelijk begonnen met de Percy Jackson serie! De boeken en de schrijfstijl zijn echt totaal anders dan ik had verwacht, zo leuk en makkelijk te lezen. Vol met heerlijke humor en genoeg actie, dat ik me afvraag of de makers van de films en de nieuwe serie ook het boek echt goed hebben gelezen

I read this book a long time ago to my son who was at the time small and uninterested, a few years later my son finally paid attention to the book and fell in love. The book is good, the story is interesting, especially for 8-15-year-olds so I understand why he and then my daughter loved it, and that is why I am giving it 4 stars. For my taste, I think it falls into a little too young for me, but much like the HP series this probably grows as the books move into older teens and the story gets more intense.
