The Shape of Trust is the 5th book in the Stand by Me Novel series by Brinda Berry, but it is the first of her books I have read. That being said, it can be read as a stand alone novel. I didn't read the prior books, and I still thoroughly enjoyed it. The story is about a rich business owner, Webb, who suddenly discovers he has a daughter. Not only did he discover this when she was 5, but she was basically dropped off on his door step and he is left to figure things out. He know nothing about parenting, but quickly feels the parental bond and the need to protect her. An employee he has been crushing on, Lily, offers to help him. She quickly turns from bookstore employee to nanny and makes the transition seamlessly. She is great with kids, having taken care of her siblings, but also uses the opportunity to her advantage. Webb is forced to spend time with her, and she pushes their relationship to the next level. The characters have good chemistry, but the book is definitely more than just romance. It touches on feelings of love, trust, and friendship. I was hooked and will read more from this author moving forward.

The Shape of Trust is the fifth book in the Stand By Me series by Brinda Berry. This single dad, age gap slow burn romance will keep you on the edge of your seat till the very end. Josie and Webb have some amazing chemistry and with the slow burn, the anticipation of them getting together was so worth the wait. Webb’s five-year-old daughter stole the pages whenever she was on them, I think I was laughing every time she opened her mouth, you never knew what she was going to say next. I am not going to give much away about this book; I am going to tell you that you need to read it and this series. This is only my second book of the series that I have read and both were really good.

The Shape of Trust (Stand By Me, #5)
By Brinda Berry
5 stars

The Shape of Trust was a fantastic read! I have read all but one of the books in this series and each one I have absolutely loved. From the very first page until the last I am lost in the story and characters that this wonderful author has created. As with the other books in this series I fell in love with the characters almost instantly – there is just something about them, they are always genuine and down to earth and you just want to keep reading about them. I really liked Lily; she had that quirky quality that I have come to love from this author's characters. I loved her determination in life and I really wanted her to succeed in everything she wanted.
I liked Webb and thought that he and Lily did have this great connection. I admired Webb for turning his life around and how he dealt with the unexpected news of a daughter that he never knew he had.
Again, this was another fantastic story in this series that I 100% recommend! I look forward to more from Ms Berry again in the future!

The Shape of Trust (Stand by Me #5)
By Brinda Berry
Rated 5 stars

This is another super book in the Stand By Me Series. I have read quite a few of this series. This is a interesting one that deals with some tough decisions for both characters. It was all blended well together. I liked each of the main characters and the story was good. The connection between Webb and Lily was very believable. I enjoyed their time together as much as they did. Learning, talking and laughing. That kissing!?!? Meltdown!

Webb has struggles in his life but his most recent is staying away from Lily who he considers “too young” for him. When he hires her for a job the struggle is harder because being around her all the time makes him only think of one thing. When they talk about the physical ”age” difference vs the mental one it’s mentioned by Lily that:

“ It’s not the days that make up a life, you know. It’s the experiences.”

I thought that was so profound. Great line!

I struggled with his daughter sometimes because a 5yo would not be okay with her grandma leaving her with someone she doesn’t know. ....and not crying for her mom all the time. That just seemed weird. She acts like she is perfectly fine living with a man she has never seen. Plus the words she uses and actions make her seem older than her age. I just wish this would Have been addressed at least for a little bit. Then have her adjust to her new life. She is a cute addition to the story so I can fault for that addition.

Again this is not my first book by this author. It is probably my second favorite of the series. I like that the author doesn’t shy away from real problems and uses them to show how people can move forward in life.

This is my favorite book in this series yet. I read a lot about single moms but its great to read about strong single dads. Webb finally has his life together until his five year old daughter he never knew about turns his life upside down. Then he meets Lily. Not only instant attraction but she could be the one to help turn his life right side up again. I loved these two, their chemistry is off the charts. Will they be able to resist each other? I highly recommend reading their story!

Here’s a funny story with a serious situation, drug abuse. It includes some minor situations, single parenting, dyslexia, trusting other people. Berry has written a story with all these situations and given us the fun and crazy ride of Lily and Webb.

Super cute story with real characters. I loved how this book was able to take real life circumstances and create characters that were unafraid to tackle them.

I highly recommend this story and even though it is book 5 in the Stand by Me series, it can be read as a standalone.

The Shape of Trust is the fifth book in the Stand By Me series by Brinda Berry. This series just seems to get better and better with each new release. I have really loved this series, so when this book was released I knew I just had to read it- but I wasn’t sure I would love it as much as the other four books. Well, I should never have doubted Ms. Berry, because the characters and storyline won me over immediately, and this book has now become my favourite of the series.
As with the other books, Ms. Berry has produced a wonderful story with a superb plot and a captivating storyline. Added to that were her endearing, fully developed, and somewhat quirky characters- the combination of these pulled me into the story and kept me wrapped up in all the developments. I was so completely emotionally invested in every detail. I couldn’t put it down, as I really had to know how things would play out- so I ended up reading it all in one sitting. Web and Lily Rose are such fantastic characters, but it’s little Julianne who really stole the show!
Ms. Berry manages to instil bucketloads of charm and emotion into her stories and characters- which gives her books a real heart & soul.
I really recommend this book- you’ll be bound to love it just as much as I have!
I can’t wait to get my hands on her next book!

Thank you, Ms. Berry.

The Shape of Trust (a Stand By Me novel Book 5) by Brinda Berry

5 Stars

This is my second book in this series and also by this author, I loved book 4 and was happy to revisit Josie’s bookstore.

This story had me hooked from page 1, I love how the author took a real life issue and turned it into part of who Lily was and it was written beautifully. Then tackling another real life problem with Webb. I loved everything about this story. I started it thinking i'll just get it started and read it throughout my day but that didn't work, I ended up reading it in one sitting. The words flowed too perfect to put down and my interest stayed glued to my kindle the whole book.

I still have to download and read the first 3 of this series and will as soon as i can, but rest assured this can be read as a stand alone. I just can't wait to put the whole series together and read them all one right after the other..Its that good!

Can't wait to see if there is more to come.

Loved it.

The Shape of Trust (a Stand By Me novel Book 5) by Brinda Berry is wonderfully sweet story. Brinda has done a great job of writing wonderful characters that take a hold on your heart. Her writing style is captivating and makes it one book you are unable to put down. It is a wonderful romance story that you can’t get enough of.

Lily is such a quirky character she will have you going through an array of emotions as we wade through her no so good life. That is until she meets someone who steals her heart but does he even notice her in that way? She is caring and most compassionate person, always looking out for others, but who looks out for her?

Web finds himself enamored with the new girl but all that needs to stay locked away as he is confronted with the biggest thing to ever happen to him. Something from his past, something he knew nothing about until now. Something that will forever change his life and now that he has it he will not let it go.

I really look forward to reading more in this series. I love it.

Unexpected and fantastic. This book had me hooked on page one. Just when life is perfect...enter the inevitable curve ball. I was thankful to read of a character so well written and formed to be the unexpected single father. Throw in the steamy romance and you’ve got yourself a winner. Loved it!
