While the quality of illustration never wavers from the original (cloudy with a chance of meatballs); the storyline is considerably less endearing.

Complex illustrations. Didactic story line, but with lots of humor.

I have read this several times to my kids and for some reason they think it's hilarious. Maybe the thought of using marshmallows as ammunition makes them giggle. Funny story, with great illustrations, and a good talking point about how being different doesn't mean we should be divided.

The town of Right, with only right-handed people, and the town of Left, with only left-handed people, are separated by a bright yellow dotted line. The Order of the Ambidextrous Knights of the Dotted Yellow Line repaint the line when it starts to fade and make sure that no one crosses the line. The knights also guard their huge stash of marshmallows. One day someone accidently crosses the line, and that's when the troubles begin.

This reminded me of [b:The Sneetches|105549|The Sneetches and Other Stories|Dr. Seuss|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1171555580s/105549.jpg|2736871] and [b:The Butter Battle Book|275325|The Butter Battle Book|Dr. Seuss|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1173334869s/275325.jpg|218092] by Dr. Seuss. I bought this for my library because it was written by the team behind [b:Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs|8073|Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs|Judi Barrett|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1165652464s/8073.jpg|11045]. In addition to the fun and silly food humor that I expected, this one really has a message. The illustrations are also a lot of fun, with humorous touches relating to the marshmallows and the contrasts between right and left.
