This was such an emotional read! I got much more than I expected.

A fun sequel to Something Real . I didn't like it nearly as much as Something Real due to Lexie. I had a much harder time connecting with her, than I did with Chloe. The plot moved fairly quickly, with lots of things happening. I also really liked the side characters. Liam and Noelle were amazing!! But overall, I just didn't fall in love with it. Lexie wasn't my favorite and at points she made decisions that didn't make sense.
If you read and like Something Real, definitely read it. The Lexie Project gives some satisfying closure on Chloe and Patrick which will make the reader happy. Overall, cute but not amazing.

*lots of language, semi-frequent uses of the f-bomb, and others. References to sex, some heavy make-out, and a couple non-graphic sex scenes. Some sexual abuse memories. Definitely for older teens+

I feel like my feelings about Lexie in this book pretty much mirrored by feelings about her in Something Real: I started off not being a fan of her, I was very much not into the camera obsessed, shallow, fake-Lexie. But as the book went on, I fell in love with her. I fell for the Lexie who's not afraid to be who she wants to be, for the Lexie who is not afraid to tell it like it is and anyone who has a problem with that can fuck themselves.

Noelle was charming and I loved that we got to spend A LOT more time with Benny, Matt, Chloe, and Patrick.

I also appreciated that some of the plot lines that I felt like didn't get fully wrapped up in Something Real got their questions answered.

My first instinct was to say that this book felt heavier than Something Real but it's not really, it just addresses different topics (trigger warnings for sexual assault, drug/alcohol abuse, and discussions of eating disorders). All of these I think were handled extremely well.

There were many moments when I felt like I was about to cry in this book, sometimes sad-cry, sometimes happy/proud-cry.

This felt like a fantastic ending to this duology. I'm so glad we got one more book with Lexie, Chloe and Benny.
