It was slow. Too slow for my liking. The story was just okay for me. Didn’t love it and didn’t hate it.

Almost perfect story telling. Loved the characters bond. Just a bit slow at times.

I'm not really sure where to begin...I liked it, I didn't love it. The chapters are short so it's really easy to read a big chunk in one sitting, the premise is interesting, but it's lacking in something. There were some moments where I couldn't tell if the writing was weak or if it just read that way because the book is told from the perspective of a man who's been isolated for close to a decade and lacks some social skills.

The tone of the first few chapters reminded me of one of my favorite books, The Road, and I think comparing the two so early is where I went wrong. Also, I'm not sure why it's listed as a thriller, it's more in line with general fiction.

Overall, it's a quick read and I did like it. The short chapters made it really hard to put down.

A book you’ll forgot you even read as soon as it’s over. Barely should be classified as a thriller

This one I thought was a bit different. A thriller with a slow pace, flawed characters and a good plot. The story focusses more on the characters than on action and twists, which I appreciated, and I really felt the characters’ isolation through the narration. Yes, there was tension and suspense, but there were some heartfelt moments in there too, which balanced everything beautifully.

I’m not sure how I feel about the epilogue, but I enjoyed the setting and the atmosphere.

Leisurely start with a sprint at the end. I think the main character, all along, was Scotland and his story. Was a well written portrait of love, trauma, and the choices you make in life, along with the unexpected turns along the way. Man, I want to live in a cabin in the woods!
