I wish this wasn't the end of America and Maxon's love story and that books 4 and 5 were mainly about them as well, but I am happy with the ending of it. I do feel like the twist at the end felt a little rushed and I wish the book had continued for another 100-150 pages so the wrap up was smoother.

If the miscommunication trope was a book, this would be it. Half the plot of this book is Maxon and American NOT talking to each other, both being stubborn when they both want the same thing.

Over all the story is cute and one I could definitely see the intended audience loving. The side characters are very different in this book than they've been in previous ones which was a bit of a whiplash.

The ending drama felt a bit over the top and I'm not sure how the next two books are going to work out.

I loved this ending!! Maxon and America really grew during the series, and I loved the development that Kriss's and Celeste had as well. I wish we'd gotten more from Elise, though.

I also did feel like the ending was a little rushed... Aspen seemed to get over America so quickly and I think it was kind of a cheap way out to kill the king.

BUT MAXON. TELLING HER HIS HEART WAS ONLY HERS TO BREAK. I ALMOST DIED ON THE SPOT 😍😍😍
