I really enjoyed the entire Percy Jackson series when I read them for the first time when I was around 22 years old. My only complaint now is that I’m closer to 30 years old trying to reread them again, and there are quirks to the writing style and the jokes made that just don’t connect with me as much anymore. That being said, I recommend them to anyone who likes YA fiction, Greek and Roman mythology, and adventure.

Young Percy, newly discovered son of poseidon is off to camp half blood. Antics ensue! This is a blend of mythology and modern day, light hearted humour and are an easy read. While for kids/young adults this is still quite fun to read for adults as long as you don't take it too seriously.

Finally, I finished the series after 3 years. Actually, these books are my door to the book community on Twitter, Instagram, and anywhere else. I remember I considered reading this or Harry Potter, and I chose this. I was weighing the option with financial matter in mind, actually. I was glad because it's written lightheartedly for a beginner as a reader like me.

I remember I really liked the first and the second books, but after that, it's kinda disappointing for me. That's why it took me so long to finish the books. The controversy about the author really makes me unmotivated to finish it, but I'm glad I did it so I don't make another unfinished book in my reading list. Besides, it's not that bad except that at some point, I questioned the author's choice to put unnecessary comedy in between the part of the books. Besides that it's really fun to read.

I probably not gonna touch anything the author's made for a long time even though I know he made another continuation of the series for personal reasons. I will keep this memory of Percy Jackson in my heart, though.

Olympic Gods? A satyr? And comedy? The author spun a world that I wasn’t used to, and I learned so many things about Greek and even Roman Gods. With this book we are exposed to a magical life in our modern world. This book really helped me know about Greek gods and really helped during school.
