I had a hard time actually connecting to the story and the characters.
Sure I enjoyed most of it, but there were still parts I felt indifferent about.

These men knew that they like each other and they wanted to work on it but the marriage sort of inhibited their plan. I'm really glad that they worked through it and melt into each other so easily.

This was a sweet contemporary romance with some unexpected D/s undertones. Nick is macho and controlling, but doesn't recognize his dominant tendencies until Holly makes them impossible to ignore. I liked getting to watch the relationship between these two develop. They both had a lot to learn, a lot to accept about each other and themselves. The secondary characters were also well done, playing off Nick and Holly's personalities in ways that made the main characters stand out even more.

This book, I think, would not be to everyone's taste, and I don't think it is difficult to understand why, but for me it was somehow exactly what I wanted to read at that moment in time, even though it was picked at random from my tbr pile! Holly is a complex character, and his progression and growth through the period of the book is dramatic. So dramatic, in fact, that i think Anah Crow is quite brave for writing him as she had. This is because the change is large enough that in some books or stories it would appear as a plot device, or a sign that the characterisation hasn't been faithful to Holly as he starts. Yet I don't see him this way at all. I know a little of some of the crap Holly has been through, though I do not profess to be all knowing at all, but the change from self destructive to adoring & almost happy-go-lucky felt entirely natural and progressed at a believable pace throughout the book, rather than feeling forced.
As you can probably tell, I really enjoyed this book. It wasn't absolutely perfect, but then I don't think much is! The sex was incredibly hot and the D/s was beautiful and seemed natural with both men even when their fortunes switch, which I though was especially well done, as it would be so easy to screw it up and have the D/s roles get a bit mixed or blurred - something I've seen before in other books.
I highly recommend this - it was a great read and I'm looking forward to re-reading it in the future :)

This book has two interesting, complex main characters. Holly is perhaps the more intriguing. The symmetry of the MC's taking care of each other as each needs it in turn is nice. The way they interact, slowly acknowledging a love that has been there all along, is satisfying. I did wish Nick's wife had been a little more well-rounded. This can't have been an easy situation for her and the plot could have worked without her being such a bitch. The one thing that didn't quite work for me was the dom-sub tone that developed in the relationship of the MC's. At times it didn't seem natural with Holly's personality. Still, well worth the read.

I was a bit bothered by the way the relationship changed in the last 20% or so but I still liked it well enough.
