it was beyond interesting and harrowing i just did not get on well with the writing style. i listened to the audiobook which made it even more moving. the final chapter is beautiful, i just wish the rest of the book was written that way

Jenette McCurdy perfectly understands the impact of brevity in this memoir. Short chapters of her memories from childhood to present day make the book deeply readable even when discussing harrowing subject matter.

This was a highly anticipated read for me, & wow. I watched iCarly as a kid, & I never imagined this is what Jennette was going through behind the scenes. I appreciate her vulnerability, her humor, & her perspective. This couldn’t have been easy to be so vulnerable & honest, & I hope she is doing well & I look forward to what she does next.
