Found on Tiktok through a recommendation of “best hunger games-esque YA”. I enjoyed the concept and the visual descriptions of the society. I think I wanted either more or less clarity in the book, especially around the idea of “magic”.

Loved the inclusion of the language of flowers!

I really enjoyed this story, but while I was reading I also kept thinking and feeling it could have been better or smoother. The pacing occasionally felt off, and the lessons were either too in the face or glossed over, with a bunch of elements that felt superfluous. But none of that really took away from my enjoyment of the story, which is a mindset I’ll try to cultivate a bit more.
