Gahhhh, curse these cliffhangers!! I love Kim & Kim but I sure am hoping for their own sake's some emotional growth. It's all brawls and drinking and consonantly fucking things up. I'm rooting for them both and hoping that they come out on top!!

A fun, violent time with good jokes, great clothes, and good character dynamics.
The over arching plot moves forward (we finally meet El Schorcho!) but I really hope Kim Q. learns some of those lessons Kim D. keeps trying to teach her... there's only so much of the same messiness/mistakes I can watch/read a character make before I get annoyed!

CW: Lots of deadnaming here from Kim. Q's POS father who refuses to grow past his transphobia.

I read volumes 1-3 of this. I didn't dislike it but didn't love it. The humor/excitement is a brand lost on me. Kinda kitschy, gimmicky. There's a trans character, so that's cool! Represent. I was hoping for deeper characters or a romance (there are flings, but nothing more interesting) that I could really get behind on a ship level but, nada.

I enjoy the Kim & Kim series a lot. There are plenty of pop culture references, typically subtle unless you know them (like here Kim Q. plays Dabo from Star Trek), lots of humor, nearly all of the characters are queen in some fashion, and there's a trans subplot going on.

One thing the series has always been, including here, is that everything happens SO FAST. Maybe it's a good thing because it makes me read each volume 2-3 times, but that also means that I feel like I've missed or overlooked too much in my first read.

In any case, I did enjoy this latest volume and I adore the art. Art has always been a very strong point for the series and it continues.
