not entirely what i was expecting, but a wonderful book all the same! i love the representation for chronic illness, disability, and mental health, as well as the strong moral that physical touch is not the be-all and end-all for affection—we are all allowed to like or dislike it!

Picture book from the library

Stunning book about how some people LOVE hugs, but some people prefer to shown love in different ways: a handshake, a wave, or playing them a song. The book also teaches that sometimes, huggy people don't want a hug right now, and that's okay too!

A great way to explain how to show someone you love them through hugs. Very diverse characters too! Would make a great storytime book.

A little different from Don't Hug Doug, but in the same vein. Decent representation of ways to show caring.

Consent and ways to show love. Different kinds of touch and not-touch are covered in a very approachable manner.
