This is a prequel novella about how Dermot and Ada Harding (grandparents to Vaughn and Cole from the main Gold Rush Ranch series) got past their age difference and found their way to each other.
This wasn’t particularly groundbreaking, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Ada and Dermot had a lot of chemistry and even though their story is ultimately a bit sad (given what’s going on at the start of OFF TO THE RACES), it’s also pretty beautiful. This had a fun age gap trope and I loved the character of Ada’s dad and getting to see the beginnings of both the racing and mining operations. A worthwhile novella that makes me excited to continue on in the series!
CW: PTSD/mental health

This is horrible. She was 10 and he was 20 when they met but somehow no one has a problem with it. Disgusting
