First book of 2023, though largely read in 2022, this is a long one! My book club's December meeting was just sharing favorite books and book recommendations, which is how I came across this one. I listened to the audio book non stop for the last few days of Christmas break. It started slow, but really picked up and then I couldn't put it down. The description claims that King " has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation", which was certainly reflected here. I was particularly struck by the section covering the Cuban missile crisis, and the abject terror and despondency of the characters. Thoroughly enjoyed this one, would recommend, 4.5/5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I never would’ve guessed for a book to end on that note. Only until the last 100ish pages was it about the date of 11/22/63, and yet it took hundreds of pages to create build up, I never found it boring and only continued to love it more. The characters and the entire plot makes this such a beautiful journey that readers get to follow Jake Epping/George Amberson on. I especially enjoyed the little twist of romance between George and Sadie, cutest yet heartbreaking story with them

Time travel intrigues me. I liked the book. I wouldn't say I loved it. It was entertaining and I enjoyed reading Jake's time in the past--and the life he wishes to keep in the past--but felt at times the plot was dragging.

3.75 stars. Wow. What a story. Hard to believe how different the world would have been if JFK hadn't been killed. Beautifully written, with so many little details to make it more personal and more believable.

It consistently lives in my top 10 books, which I have enjoyed reading. It is one of the best endings to a book I have experienced, and it is a wonderful love story. This book is a fabulous first read for Stephen King if you are nervous about the 'scary stuff.'

Story telling at its best.
The only reason not a 5 star, just a bit too wordy in the last 1/3 in parts.
