Potente come la fede, di qualunque tipo essa sia.
Un reverendo, la sua famiglia, la sua congregazione e la sua profonda crisi.
La Strout mi ha rapita.

I read this after enjoying one of Elizabeth Strout’s other books, “Olive Kitteridge”. Like Olive Kitteridge, this was really well written with flawed characters, believable conversations, and rich backstories. Unlike Olive Kitteridge, this one was fucking dull.

I loved her other books, so I expected to swoon over this one as well. It was beautifully written, and a good book, but not her best.

I like Olive Kitteridge so much that I read this immediately after. I can't remember much about it, but I did like it.

Maybe I come back to this another time. I like Elizabeth Strout's later books, but this one was a bit of a chore to read. And I'm also just not interested enough in the story.

I enjoyed the book although it was a little slow to get into. It illustrates that the best Christians are those who walk the walk rather than talk the talk.
