Ummmm… I loved the in the midst series by this author so I thought I would read more from her catalog & unfortunately this one wasn’t as good as the two books in the in the midst series.

I hardly ever read novellas that are apart of a series that act as an introduction to the actual book but definitely read the novella prior to reading this. It helps you get an insight on the dynamic & love connection between the two characters.

I think the downfall of this book for me was the many holes & unfinished business that were left once the book was completed. I also feel like the connection between the two characters were forever changing. One minute they were good or fake being good & the next they were bad but things never really got resolved but some kinda way they would end up good again it was confusing & taxing.

Another thing I didn’t like was the way that the characters demeanor/personality, etc. we’re different in this book compared to how they were in the novella. In the novella you would’ve thought they were soulmates & in the beginning of this book the characters portrayed that they were truly obsessed with each other but once’s they linked back up both characters started making lame excuses about why they couldn’t be together like if that’s the case why tf did you spend a year dreaming, obsessing, longing for this person?!

I honestly think Midas’s mom & Naveah’s strong personality is why I liked the book soo much. Like there was a part in the book where Neveah gave bad b.tch energy & it was soo good.
