I read this quite a while ago and I remember thinking, why is she making a big deal out of turning twelve? This was a book for twelve year olds obviously and it wasn't the greatest book written. The author has written better books and I feel this wasn't quite as strong as her others.

I thought this was a book that really interested me. I love the mistical setting in the end of the book. I also liked how they tied in the characters from the previous book.

Kind of reminds me of [b:Are You There God It's Me Margaret|37732|Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret|Judy Blume|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1255655175s/37732.jpg|4121], only instead of talking about physical changes that some with adolescence like first bras and first periods, we get to see other rites of passage like first cell phones, first baby-sitting jobs, and getting one's ears pierced.

A nice enough read/listen and it was pretty funny at times (especially during scenes regarding the killer bunny), and I'd definitely recomend it to tweens. But it lacked some of the magic found in [b:11 Birthdays|4835838|11 Birthdays (11 Birthdays, #1)|Wendy Mass|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1328840465s/4835838.jpg|4901046].

Rory Swenson is looking forward to turning 12. She will get many privlages and she'll be able to do things. Like getting a pet, a cell phone, contact, lenes and staying home by herself. Sadly everything does not go the way she hoped it would.

Really cute with a lot of laugh out loud moments, but some parts were so drawn out it was painful. At the same time, I’ll keep reading the series.

Even better than 11 Birthdays! A funny but accurate look at what life looks like for some of us at 12 years old. A good bit of wisdom in the writing too without getting too preachy to its audience. 2 thumbs up for this one for sure. I'll be passing it along to a few people in my life and definitely book talking it in my school library.
