Lady Trent discovers more about dragons in a space not unlike a mix of Africa and the Amazon. She also learns a lot more about her limits and about not bowing to others to get ahead.

I truly love the set up of these books and how much they mimic naturalists’ publications back in the day. That being said, I think my general lack of excitement for historical fiction played a role in my enjoyment of this book. I appreciated seeing the parallels between our world and this world with how dragons tweaked history in certain ways. These books are still something I have fun with and I look forward to being able to come back to this world on and off as my mood changes and I want to enjoy a fun adventure.
