Thanks to the author for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The writing style in this book was lovely! I could easily lose myself in the story and the pages and I was excited every time to keep reading.

I'm a fan of stories with witches, magic and other fantasy-creatures, so this book was definitely in my genre.

The erotic layer was nice as well, all though I would've loved for the first 50% and the last 50% to be swapped: Layla getting to know about herself and Ink first would've been better, in my opinion.

I would love to learn more about Layla, her history, her life and where this story is going.

Plot: interesting, a good set up with context and an intriguing concept to develop in the coming series.

I struggled with the writing style and wanting more character development for Ink. Overall, an interesting quick read that I look forward to continuing and hope it gets better and more developed.

I finished it, can I breathe now?

I swear, I was holding my breath throughout the action packed second half of the book. I wasn't expecting that at all.

The first half was VERY steamy. Ink is a wild one. And Layla just needed some stress relief and got more than she ever could've dreamed.

I like that little foreshadowing in the library, and the actual reveal itself, it helps shape the plot.

The writing style is nice and flows well, no complaints there.

I wish Layla's friend group had more scenes and I'm interested in getting to know them better in the following books.

The only downside is how short the book is, that's just not fair.

Hot Damn...

This was only the prequel?!

So much happened in this short story that I'm left wanting more! In the beginning of the story, Layla is just a college student who is trying to pass all of her classes and stay home for her birthday when she walks into her living room and a half naked man is standing here. What ensues will be so hot it will leave you breathless! I cannot wait to read the first book and see what happens to Layla and Ink!
