★★★★☆

Torn is another fantastic book from the amazing Monica Murphy that I got sucked right into and didn't want to end. With fun, drama, romance, and...well it is a Monica book...smoking hot sexy scenes, this is a definite one-click read.

Gage Emerson is a member of the Billionaire Bachelors Club, in which the last man who gets married, wins a million dollars from the other members. With Archer already engaged, the stakes are high for Gage, and things are looking hopeful. That is, until he meets Marina Knight. While battling over her much loved family business, neither Marina nor Gage realise that something else is on the line. Their hearts.

I absolutely loved the whole idea of this book and Monica definitely pulled it out of the bag. I loved that the two main characters hated each other but had an undeniable connection and attraction to each other. I loved that the chemistry they shared was sizzling. I loved that they both got something that neither of them bargained for. I loved the drama that had me wanting to shake some sense into them (though that also drove me crazy). And I loved how the whole story came together to create a truly brilliant book that I didn't want to put down.

Torn is the second book in Monica Murphy's Billionaire Bachelors Club series, and though part of a series, each book focuses on a different member from the group so you don't need to have read Crave (book #1) to enjoy reading Torn, but as always, to get the full reading experience, it's better if you read the series in order.

At first Gage and Marina didn't like each other. They had incredible chemistry but that was about it. Gage kept saying the wrong thing and Marina couldn't figure out what his angle was. Their relationship was steamy and fun. Gage tried to deny his feelings for her but eventually he had no choice but to give in to Marina and his feelings for her. Archer and Ivy have cameo's and it's nice to see their story continue a bit. I like the premise of this story. It's a nice easy romance. It's not overly complicated or too deep. There could have been a bit more added to get to the next level. There was just something missing that kept this book from being a four or more star book. The relationship wasn't detailed as much and there wasn't a big climax like I was expecting. The writing was good though, so I would read more from this author in hope of seeing her reach her full potential.

I enjoyed this - short and sweet. But since it was so short (it was barely over 200 pages, since a good portion of the last 50 pages were snippets from other books), it felt like it was a little lacking in development. But the ending really made up for it, I think.

The second book in the billionaire bachelors Club series this story focuses on Marina and gage. Marinas family has property in Napa Valley and gage is trying to purchase it. Marina and gage have a very contentious relationship and spend most of the book arguing or having sex I'm. I'm not as fond of this book as the previous one, mainly because I don't like the main characters that much. The ending is contrived and overall it's a fairly generic book and I had trouble connecting with the characters or believing that they loved each other. There was a lot of hot sex but the first book is better in my opinion.
