I want to start this off by saying that I did enjoy this book. I had a lot of fun reading it!
But it just seems so unnecessarily long. There’s so many scenes and conversations that go on for so many pages and I think a lot them should’ve been trimmed down. There’s no need for relatively unimportant scenes to last 50 pages or more.
Vague spoilers:
Most of this book felt like the characters talking about what they’re going to do than actually doing anything. And I know they’re trying to figure stuff out and that’s not always action-based, but I don’t think that’s a enough good excuse for how little happens in this book.
I didn’t mind it too much honestly, because of how much I enjoyed seeing all the characters again and
Less vague spoiler:
watching them all hang out at Foxfire.
But I can’t ignore that I think this is just a weak book overall.
ACTUAL SPOILER!
I will say that I’ve wanted Sophie and Keefe together for the last six years and it made really happy seeing that!
I also really like that Alden doesn’t show up even once in this entire book, he gets one or two mentions and that’s it! And I hope it stays that way
