I’ll admit I was a little underwhelmed with the dialogue in the first half of the book, but the second half really picks up. I love that the Japanese lore behind the Yuki Onna fits so well with Eredin and the Witcher story. Having recently read and enjoyed The Keeper of Night, which centers around Japanese folklore, I feel like I had a higher appreciation for the different yōkai and references in this book.

The illustrations are great and I have the Kickstarter edition of the book(hardback and gold foiled) which is so stunningly beautiful, it deserves 5 stars all on its own.
