I was so in love with Sorin and Esther. Their love story spoke volumes. This story made me believe I was watching their movie with popcorn in hand. I liked the first book in this series but totally loved this one

In this book we are given Esther and Sorin's story. I like that it provided the perspectives of characters Esther and Sorin. I wish it would have provided Natasha's perspectives has the book Keep provided David's. From the book Keep, you almost wished from the antagonistic relationship that Esther and Sorin developed would grown into something more. "A thin line between love and hate," is a good way to describe these two. I felt bad for Natasha, who loved Sorin and knew that he would never love her back, but held out hope that she would always be the woman he would come to when he need a release.

It did not matter if these two argued they just could not stay away from each other. In Keep we saw a glimpse of Sorin's caring side when it came to Vaslie, Fawn and his niece Maria. We will also see what he how he cares for Esther and she fighting was she feels for him. Will Esther and Sorin go the distance or are they headed for a fall?

Enjoyed this one more than the first for quite a few reasons.

1) I'd met the characters in the previous book and had a glimpse of their backstories. Something I didn't get with Fawn and Vasile.
2) Personalities. Esther is a spitfire. She knows her own mind, she's brash and ballsy, but smart. I didn't seen her make one bad move. Other than falling in love with a known mobster, but I'm fine with that. It's a mob romance.
3) Sorin. Ohh, God, Sorin. Handsome, charming, smokin' hot sexy. Confident, arrogant, but vulnerable. Alpha without being too much of a prick. It's hard finding the right balance, but it was met here. Even more, he's honest. About his feelings or lack thereof. That is always appealing. And pretty damn unheard of for a mobster.
4) Their relationship. Anyone with eyes could see this pairing coming in the first book. Could immediately see the attraction Sorin had to a woman who wasn't intimidated by his hulking presence or impressed with his money and status. Mobsters are rich. Esther stood on her own, even when he told her not to; which only served to heighten his desire for her. Them falling in love was pretty much a foregone conclusion, but it was still worth the journey. Especially watching Esther realize she could be vulnerable and sensual with this man. A man she swore she would never want.

Not really a fan of the alternating POVs or the first person prose, but that's just a personal preference. It didn't take away from the story in any way, and in fact, added to it when dealing with their emotions for each other. This was a great little escape. I'm going to check out the next.
