Not a bad celebrity memoir, mostly because it was so focused on food. I think some of the chapters could have been re-ordered to form a better narrative, but it was well-written and mouthwatering.

This isn't the most polished, well crafted work of writing I've ever read. And usually it's difficult for me to get past that! But I did and really enjoyed this read; I barely put it down and finished it in approximately 24 hours. It's funny, it will absolutely make you hungry, it also hints at so many movies, TV shows and names drops so many celebrities that I did all that reading along with copious amounts of googling. I now have several new things to watch and have learned he and Colin Firth are besties and what more could want?! Obviously, recipes and they are in abundance. Very readable and relatable and charming. My favorite food writer, Ruth Reichl, still sits safely in a class of her own, but if you like her, this book is reminiscent of her work. Quite fun and I recommend!!

If you are into movies, food, or just a Stanley Tucci enthusiast, I belive this is a must read. We are taken through all the stages if this man's beautiful life, with every stepping stone being marked by a tremendous recipe. How cool ??? This is a great concept. Super inspiring and I would say an impeccable way of thinking about food. The book doesn't dig into the intimate details or his life, he stays invulnerable the whole time, but it just touches on some very real issues, without the gory side of a memoir where we feel like we are intruding.
The Hollywood name dropping is immaculate as well if you're into that sort of thing.
Overall it's a great inspiring summer read by a man everybody would love to spend the evening with, without being a pretentious book by a non-writer pretending to be what he is not.

When I heard that Stanley Tucci wrote a book, I knew I had to have it. I love him as an actor and have heard him speak for the love of life, his family, and food. I was not disappointed.
It started slow for me. In fact, I put it down and picked it up at a later time. But the second time I read it within a 24-hour period.
I love all of his food insights. And I was touched by his personal stories. I was even misty-eyed as I finished it. I'm not sure if it was just touching or his experience hits close to home as both my parents went through similar battles in recent years.
I love him all the more.

Some slow bits in middle, but also some really nice stories and celebrity cameos.
