A Very Fun Dive into the creation of the Netflix show. It was really neat to see some of the behind the scenes work that went into the show.

I really enjoyed this book, but I would only recommend this to fans of the series. Not casual viewers or those who think they might be interested in the series, but actual fans. This book has a lot of material that could be quite dry if you aren't already fully invested in the series. As someone who is obsessed with anything Lemony Snicket, I really liked it, but I can see why others may not. Also, I was surprised by how spoiler-y this was, given the it was published before the release of season 3.

My favorite things about the book:
- The stills. They were so pretty!
- The section about hair and makeup. I loved learning how they made Olaf's face, and I had no idea that Sunny was wearing a wig throughout season 1!
- The section about the music. I just really enjoyed reading about the different character themes and how they interacted with each other.
- The in-universe material was really fun. I don't take anything from the show as cannon in the books, but the content fit the kooky-ness of the show.
- I need to mention the stills again. They were SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! I don't know why, but I'm such a slut for stills from movies/TV printed out on large, glossy paper.

I was surprised at how well this worked as an audiobook. It did come with a PDF but I was worried it would all be "See image 42" and stuff like that. Instead it did give quite a few interesting stories and interviews with the cast and crew of the Netflix series.

Of course, you have to have seen the entire show and loved it to get anything out of this book.

4.5 out of 5 stars.

This was fun.

I love the main series of books, and I loved the Netflix show, so having a book about how it was made, all the intricate little details and tidbits that made the series special was great.

It's also stunningly designed too; very visually pleasing.

As a long-time avid fan of the Series of Unfortunate Events, I was scared and excited when I heard Netflix was adapting them. Each season was everything I could have wanted it to be. This book adds so many layers to understanding the creation of the show. I love all of the behind the scenes information, interviews with creators, cast, and crew, plus the secret message (how very VFD)!
