A captivating read, but anyone who’s read a couple mystery books could’ve guessed the ending halfway through the novel. I was hoping for something more complicated and unexpected but the ending fell flat.

I'm afraid this one didn't hit the mark for me. While I found the second half better than the first, I was still confused at the ending and finished feeling disappointed. It wasn't "thriller" enough for me and didn't seem to answer any of the questions that arose.
On the plus side, it was easy to read and I enjoyed the garden dynamics between the girls and the various families although it seemed very awkward and almost normal for young girls to be getting up to no good, which gave me the ick factor!
I have loved Lisa Jewell books in the past but this isn't my favourite however I would recommend to anyone who is new to thrillers for an easy read.

Definitely biased because I love Lisa Jewell, but it kinda blows my mind how many people hate the ending of this one. Feels like a logical conclusion to me

I really enjoyed the characters in this book, they felt very real to me. It wasn’t nearly as suspenseful as I had expected it to be, but a good book all the same.

Lisa Jewell is always hit or miss for me.
This one was a miss. The ending completely ruined it.
