Witty, well-written, and inspirational. A quick collection of essays that gave new depth to plenty of women I’ve heard of, and some I haven’t. It’s a treat to yourself to read this.

Well. This aged poorly. It opened with a tribute to J.K. Rowling, who has since come forth as an unrepentant TERF outspokenly against any kind of truly intersectional feminism.

“Okay,” I thought. “That wasn’t widely known at the time of publication. I’ll skip that chapter.”

What then followed were several examples of extremely white USAmerican hometown heroes, in which the author sets her Difficult Women ™️ against other, presumably lesser women, who have different life experiences and goals. Because we all know the best way to achieve true equality is to tear down other people who don’t meet our own lofty standards.

Gave up at chapter 4. If there are gems of wisdom in later chapters, I do not regret missing them.

White feminism, highlighting problematic women such as JKR (terf) and Coco Chanel (nazi). The overall message of the book can be summed up as "you do you" - there, saved you a read!
