This book was pretty boring. It dragged on and it was kind of obvious what the character wanted ultimately. I think it would have been better if the main character’s takeaway wasn’t that she was madly in love with this other guy and he conveniently was no longer in a relationship so she could be with him again.

The plot concept of this book was interesting and cute but became obvious about 1/2 way through and the character development was superficial and unbelievable. I also felt way too much minutiae details, irrelevant to the characters or plot, dragged the book along

The Magic of Lemon Drop Pie 🍋🥧
by Rachel Linden
5/5 ⭐️

“When life gives you lemons🍋, make lemonade.” Lolly Blanchard has been trying to turn lemons into lemonade for the last 10 years. Her life did not go as planned after her mother’s tragic death. She deserted her dreams of owning her own restaurant to manage her family’s diner and make lemon meringue pies. She let the love of her life go because she needed to care for her grieving father and sister. Life is sweet but Lolly’s decisions are leaving a sour aftertaste.

On Lolly’s 33rd birthday, she is given three lemon drop candies from her Aunt Gert. The gift is odd but so is Aunt Gert! Aunt Gert explains that these are not ordinary candies, by eating one Lolly will have the chance to live a day in the life she wished for. Lolly uses all three lemon drops to explore her lost hopes and dreams. Each experience opens Lolly’s eyes and heart to her potential. Lolly is overcome with grit and realizes the past is unchangeable but the future has endless possibilities.

I’m not sure when I added this book to my tbr, but I wish I had read it sooner. This book is a contemporary fiction/2nd chance romance that spoke to me on so many levels. The hopefulness and positivity radiating out of the pages are amazing! Reading this book I got goosebumps, I cried, I laughed and I simply nodded my head in agreement. Everyone needs an Aunt Gert! She was my favorite character with her words of wisdom. I highly recommend this book as it will leave you feeling refreshed but gooey inside.

This is my first book of 2023, and it is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book is beautifully written. This is a story of becoming unstuck and learning to follow your bliss. My favorite character is Aunt Gert she is spunky, wise, and unapologetic.

Lolly feels like she is stuck and living life for others. Aunt Gert gives her 3 magic lemon drops for 3 chances to see what her life could be like if her biggest regrets didn't happen. With 24 hrs in each sweet life, she has a glimpse of what could be. The question is, should she stay or go?

If you had 3 lemon drops, what would you do?

Have you ever regretted choices you’ve made? Have you ever wondered how choices made in your past may have affected your future? Lolly will soon be thirty-three and she has not yet fulfilled any of her dreams. She has regrets; choices she wishes could have been different, but she felt trapped and responsible for her family. She felt like she really had no options or choices - they were made for her and she had to make the best of it. But still, what if? Aunt Gert gives her magic lemon drops that can help her see different paths her life could have taken. Lolly learns that when different choices are made, the changes in her life are more than she expected and not necessarily for the better.
