I'm glad for having read it, I suppose, as the story is quite nice. Cool morals and all that. Fun to have a night out with the gals making fun of Victor Frankenstein, or whatever.

But man. Was it long winded. Listened to the audiobook, fell asleep multiple times. Good cure for insomnia.

I had to read this for English and it was not pleasant. I’ve never been so glad to finish reading a book before. The questions the book raises are significantly more interesting than the book itself.

While I don’t like the main character-(and hate the age gaps and border line incest)- I love the writing style and creativity. Truly a book that formed many tropes.

Way too much self loathing and not enough horror in this for me.
