penny was one of my favorite characters in the silence of six, so i was initially excited to read more about her and her life outside of max. this was interesting enough, but definitely didn't hold up. i think myers took a lot of time to build up the story, but the climax fell flat and didn't really leave me wanting more. i enjoy myers writing style, but this story didn't quite meet the intensity that should have been expected from the premise. i would still read a follow-up to this, as i'm interested in penny's next mission in berlin. overall, it was decent, but just felt like the wrong parts were emphasized and rushed.
