You know what I love best about diving into a Kasie West book? The fact that I know I’m going to get a fun, romantic, easy read that instantly puts me into a good mood. This book was no different.

I love books about celebrities or that take place on a movie set or a tv set. I’ve always liked knowing what’s going on in the background – it doesn’t ruin the magic for me, it makes it even better. I think its why working at Disneyland made the magic that much more for me. I love the idea of getting to know an actress or movie star or rock star and seeing what life is like behind the scenes. This is the next best thing and it genuinely made for such a fun book. It was entertaining and I read it in a matter of a couple hours because I was so sucked into the story. I really really want to see the movie that Lacey is making – it sounds cheesy, campy and totally fun.

I always love how Kasie has such sweet romances in her books. I read a lot of fantasy that gets dark and dramatic and heartbreaking and I need a break from that and this book was SO good for that. Lacey was an entertaining main character that I wanted to be my best friend and Donavan was just adorable – he sounded exactly like the kind of boy I would’ve had a crush on in high school. I liked that there was so much simplicity and sweetness to their relationship. It was so cute and I really appreciated a story like that. I love that Kasie writes the excitement and giddiness of a teen romance so well; its honestly SO hard to replicate that.

All in all, this was a perfect read to get me through the slog of writing, blogging, Christmas, work, and so on. It was a short little escape into Hollywood and into a totally cute romance. I love that I can always expect Kasie to give me a taste of high school puppy dog giddiness. It makes me eager for each release that she puts out!

So cute. Kasie West never fails to deliver exactly the kind of cute and adorable story I'm looking for. Donovan was an angel. Just an absolute angel. I actually really liked Lacey too, and protagonists in these kinds of books are usually annoying.

And the teeny tiny mystery was pretty fun too.
SpoilerSO glad it didn't end up being Amanda. I was pissed the second I thought it was her. Didn't want any girl on girl hate here.

Just found out this is part of a "series," and Love, Life, and the List is first... the OCD in me is telling me YOU'RE AN IDIOT YOU READ THEM OUT OF ORDER. Even though it doesn't actually matter lol

It's a goal of mine to eventually read all her books because they're always just so dang cute.

I love how the main characters are polar opposite.

This was a cute story! I also loved the little mystery going on in the middle of it, that was fun! I like Lacey’s character too.

It was cute. I'm not sure it was as good as her other stories, but it was a fun story that I enjoyed. I'm not sure the mystery subplot really worked for me (the idea that someone might be trying to sabotage her on set). It just didn't land for me at all...and it was kind of a big part of the story. I did like Lacey, but she was hard for me to connect to for some reason. I really liked Donavan, but it was sometimes hard to tell where he was coming from. Anyway, overall I enjoyed it--finished it in a day--but it wasn't as awesome as I wanted it to be.

*I received a free ARC of Fame, Fate and the Fist Kiss from HarperTeen via Edelweiss. This has in no way influenced my review which is honest and unbiased.*

Yeah, my rating kind of says it all, I think. I just didn't really enjoy this story. Lacey was rather boring, and so was her life in many ways. Movie set and all. I didn't connect with any of the characters, and I was rather happy when it was over.

Full review to come.

It was cute. Not my favourite Kasie West book, but it was still a fun read. I liked that there was character cross-over from one of her other books, as that is always a fun touch. However, I didn`t find myself as invested in Lacey`s character as I typically get in other West characters. And the supporting characters weren`t the most likeable.

It`s still worth the read though, and it still gets a solid 4 star rating. It`s everything you could expect from a Kasie West book.
